Australia, New Zealand, China and Argentina share the shape. Argentine plugs run live and neutral the other way round.

The earth sits off the centre line, which is what stops a Schuko plug going in.
Type K
A Schuko or French plug goes in, but it will not earth.
Type L
Two sizes, 10 A and 16 A. Modern Italian sockets are usually the bipasso, which takes both and a Europlug too.
Type N
Recessed. Brazil runs 127 V in some cities and 220 V in others on this same socket.
Common questions
How many plug types are there?
There are 13 socket types in everyday use, Type A through Type N. Most countries use one or two of them.
Do I need a travel adapter?
Only if the sockets where you're going won't take the plug you own. That depends on where you live as well as where you're going, so it's answered per pair of countries rather than here.
Will a two-pin plug fit a three-pin socket?
Often, yes. A plug with no earth pin fits the earthed socket of its own pin shape, which is why a Type C plug goes into a Type E, F, J, K or L socket. It fits, but it isn't earthed.
Is the voltage the same everywhere?
No, it runs from 100 V to 240 V depending on the country. Nearly every phone and laptop charger takes the whole range, so you need a plug adapter rather than a voltage converter.
